Orlando Magic legend Tracy McGrady is critical of the Orlando Magic's roster after Sunday's loss to the Detroit Pistons

The Orlando Magic will spend the season searching for answers as to what caused their collapse against the Detroit Pistons in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Magic legend Tracy McGrady had a blunt answer on the post-game show on NBA Showtime. He said the Magic need a roster overhaul.

"What they have on their roster right now, what you see on their bench they gotta go," McGrady said. "I'm sorry. They ain't good enough. They need to improve this roster if they wanna be a team in the east that's gonna compete. New York ain't going nowhere. Boston is not going nowhere. Detroit ain't going nowhere."

The Magic lost the series despite holding a 3-1 lead. The Pistons capped the three-game sweep by winning 116-94 in Sunday's Game 7. The dominoes have already started falling with the firing of coach Jamahl Mosley Monday morning.

"It’s been an amazing journey watching them grow and communicate," Mosley said after the loss. "From the moment I started, we said we’re going to be a defensive team, a together team, and we’re going to fight until the final horn. You see the growth in their leadership and their ability to hold each other accountable and look in the mirror when things don't go their way. I’ve seen that over the last five years."

Mosely just couldn't get it done over the last five seasons. The Magic were expected to compete for the title this season after pairing Desmond Bane with stars Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero.

In Mosley's defense, the Magic were without Wagner for the last three games of the series. He was dealing with a calf injury.

"This organization has done a great job, and our fans have been incredible supporting these guys through all of it," Mosley said. "That’s the beauty of this game of basketball and being the head coach of the Orlando Magic."

One name who has been mentioned in the coaching search is former Chicago Bulls coach Billy Donovan.
