Mavs at Lakers; Hurting in Hollywood: How to Watch, Betting Odds, Injuries cover image

Previewing the third meeting of the season between the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers.

The Los Angeles Lakers took a 2-0 lead in the four-game series with the Dallas Mavericks this season when Luka Doncic led a 116-110 road victory for the Lake Show in American Airlines Center on Jan. 24. Doncic, the NBA's leading scorer, stayed undefeated all-time against his former team.

That loss was the first of what is currently an eight-game skid for the Mavs.

Dallas now travels to crypto.com Arena shorthanded as rookie forward Cooper Flagg enters an early All-Star break with a midfoot sprain.

In addition to missing the final game before the All-Star break on Thursday, Flagg will not compete in the Castrol Rising Stars competition on Friday, as voted into as one of the league's top youngsters.

Doncic, too, will miss Thursday night's nightcap. The Slovenian star is sidelined with a hamstring strain for the fourth game in a row. His participation in Sunday's NBA All-Star Game - which he's slated to be a starter - is still to be determined.

Here is everything you need to know for the latest installment of this "rivalry":
