DALLAS - The Dallas Mavs actually lead the NBA in one notable department: Trade rumors.
The reason why? The open secret that is the status of Anthony Davis, the oft-injured Mavs standout who a) doesn't figure as a part of Dallas' Cooper Flagg-led future and who b) could be viewed as a sort of "final piece'' for a team trying to contend.
NBA writer Zach Lowe has suggesting that the Milwaukee Bucks might be “desperate” enough to fill that "b)'' slot and should bid with an A.D. offer ahead of the Feb. 5 NBA trade deadline.
The Bucks' motivation in everything they do, of course, is all about Giannis Antetokounmpo. Presently, Milwaukee has a losing record and doesn't seem in line for a playoff berth.

There is a sentimental factor here, as Mavericks would be bringing the center Turner back to his hometown. ... though the site notes that Turner or Kuzma might be looked at "as additional trade chips.''
Is that 2032 first-rounder a major lure? Hey, it couldn't hurt.
In this deal, the Mavericks avoid paying Davis a monster contract extension while the Bucks would be able to trumpet a "win-now'' move that would give them a dominant defensive front line.
