The Dallas Mavericks added eight NBA TV games to their 2026-27 schedule, increasing their national television total from 21 to 29.
DALLAS - Eight more Dallas Mavericks games landed on national television Thursday with the release of NBA TV's 2026-27 regular-season schedule. Dallas now has 29 national TV dates.
The first NBA TV appearance comes Oct. 26 at Miami, with tipoff at 6:30 p.m. CT. It will be the Mavericks' fourth game of the season. Nov. 12 in Minnesota follows at 7 p.m. The Mavericks visit Philadelphia on Dec. 17 at 6 p.m. before hosting Phoenix on Dec. 26 at 7 p.m.
NBA TV also picked up two Dallas road games in January. The Mavericks play at Atlanta on Jan. 2 at 6:30 p.m. and at New York on Jan. 16 at 6:30 p.m.
Dallas also appears on the network March 19 at San Antonio, a 7 p.m. start. The eighth addition comes April 4, when Minnesota visits Dallas for a 2 p.m. game.
At the schedule release on Aug. 13, Dallas had 21 nationally televised games. Eight were on NBC, six on ESPN, four on Prime Video, two on Peacock, and one on ABC. The Feb. 28 home game against the Los Angeles Lakers, Luka Doncic's return to American Airlines Center, is the lone ABC date.
The Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers and San Antonio Spurs led that initial release with 34 national games apiece. Oklahoma City was next with 30, while Dallas and Houston each had 21.
NBA TV will carry 60 games this season. The schedule opens Oct. 24 with a doubleheader, Philadelphia against Milwaukee and Phoenix against Golden State. Ten of the 60 fall between Dec. 30 and Jan. 3, and the Mavericks' game in Atlanta on Jan. 2 is one of them. The network also has the NBA Mexico City Game between Denver and Indiana on Nov. 7. The league took over operations of NBA TV from TNT Sports ahead of last season.
Dallas is not scheduled to play on Christmas Day for the first time since 2019. The Mavericks played on the holiday in each of the previous six seasons. Dallas was also left off the league's opening-night slate.
The Mavericks went 26-56 last season and finished 12th in the Western Conference. That was Dallas' worst record since 2017-18.
Cooper Flagg won Rookie of the Year after averaging 21.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists. The Mavericks had taken him first overall in the 2025 draft. Kyrie Irving has remained out since tearing an ACL in March 2025.
The front office turned over in May. Masai Ujiri was hired as president of basketball operations on May 4, and the Mavericks and Jason Kidd mutually agreed to part ways on May 19. Dallas hired Dusty May as head coach in June, days after he won the national championship at Michigan in his second season there. Mike Schmitz is the general manager.
The July roster work included a three-team deal that brought Zaccharie Risacher to Dallas on July 19. Ryan Nembhard went to Atlanta in the trade, which also involved Oklahoma City. Santi Aldama and Marcus Sasser arrived in a six-team offseason trade. The Mavericks drafted Morez Johnson Jr. ninth overall and Sergio de Larrea 25th. Klay Thompson was waived in August.
Dallas opens the regular season Oct. 21 in Houston. The home opener is Oct. 24 against San Antonio, the third straight season the Spurs have opened the Mavericks' home schedule. The team's local broadcast schedule has not been announced.
