Dallas continues to add trusted voices around Dusty May, with two members of Michigan's national championship staff joining the Mavericks.

Dusty May has not wasted time building his coaching staff.

The Detroit Free Press reported Thursday that Drew Williamson and Mody Maor, two coaches from May's national championship staff at Michigan, are joining the Mavericks.

The Michigan pipeline to Dallas continues to grow.

Williamson spent two seasons at Michigan as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator before the Wolverines won the national championship in April. His move to Dallas became public without notice. Before the Mavericks tipped off their first Summer League game against Golden State on Thursday, a video circulated on social media showing Williamson in Mavericks gear, throwing passes to Morez Johnson Jr. during warm-ups; he was still listed on Michigan's staff directory Thursday morning, but by the afternoon he was on the Mavericks' bench.

Maor brings a different background to Dallas. The 40-year-old served as a head coach in Japan's B. League with the Nagasaki Velca and in Australia's National Basketball League with the New Zealand Breakers before he was hired at Michigan in May to replace Justin Joyner, who left for Oregon State after the national championship. Maor spent less than two months in Ann Arbor before following May to Dallas.

The staff May is assembling blends college relationships with NBA experience. Former New Orleans Pelicans head coach Willie Green joined as the lead assistant, bringing five seasons as an NBA head coach.

Veteran assistant Joe Boylan also joined the staff after previous stops with the Warriors, Pelicans, Timberwolves and Grizzlies. Garrett Temple officially retired from playing July 4 and accepted a coaching role after a 16 year NBA career. Phil Handy, one of the NBA's most respected player development coaches, is expected to remain on staff alongside assistant Josh Broghamer.

The additions give May another pair of coaches who already know his system. With training camp still months away, Dallas continues to shape a coaching staff built around familiarity, experience and player development.
