Dallas looks to extend its winning streak against the winless Kings, but a lingering knee injury to Kyrie Irving could shift the odds in this Western Conference clash.

Dallas will look to keep its three-game win streak intact when the Mavericks take on Sacramento.Dallas went 26-56 overall and 14-37 in Western Conference play a season ago.

The Mavericks averaged 114.1 points per game while shooting 46.6% from the field and 34.4% from 3-point distance last season.

But that was then. This is now for the Mavs.

Meanwhile,Sacramento went 22-60 overall and 14-38 in Western Conference games during the 2025-26 season. The Kings shot 46.7% from the field and 34.0% from 3-point range last season.

And this year? They're off to another bad start.

INJURIES: For the Mavericks? The biggest issue is Kyrie Irving, as ahead of the Monday clash, the Mavs initially listed Irving as questionable due to left knee injury management.

However, Irving has since been downgraded to “doubtful”. It’s unlikely that he’ll be in for Monday’s game against Sacramento.

In a win against Houston on Friday, Irving had 16 of his 35 points in the fourth quarter. He had not scored that many in a game since he tore his left ACL in March 2025, which in fact happened against the Kings.

“It’s like watching your favorite movie over and over again. It never gets old,” teammate Daniel Gafford said of Kai's leadership in this winning streak. “It’s just seeing that night in, night out. And I know there’s gonna be more and more games like that down the stretch of the season. ...

"The energy is just contagious.”

Irving went 6-of-6 at the free-throw line Friday and has made 55 consecutive free throws. Through five games, he is averaging 21.4 points on 52.7% shooting without a miss at the line.

Dallas has managed the knee since opening night. Irving sat out the Oct. 24 game against San Antonio, the second night of a back-to-back. He was also questionable before Wednesday’s game against Oklahoma City, then played.

And for the Kings: Ben Simmons: out for season (achilles), Keegan Murray: out (ankle), Dylan Cardwell: out (calf), Maxime Raynaud: out (knee).
