The Mavericks and Anthony Davis had a rocky time in their short stint after a botched trade. However, Davis is now the target of another potential trade that looks to reshape the NBA.
The Dallas Mavericks were responsible for splitting up the tandem of LeBron James and Anthony Davis on the Los Angeles Lakers. While the move eventually flopped for the Mavs, one team is rumored to planning a reunion between the former teammates.
According to reports, Davis is a prime target for none other than the Golden State Warriors, which is also making a serious push to acquire James after his decision to move on from the Lakers after an eight-year stint in L.A.

Dallas dealt Davis away to the Washington Wizards following just over a year stint that was mired by injuries and did not pan out the way the franchise had hoped when picking him up to bolster its defensive mentality in exchange for icon Luka Doncic.

Although the pairing of Davis and the Mavs was less than notable, the veteran big man still has potential to make an impact for a contending squad even in the waning years of his storied career. At least in the eyes of a Golden State team that is far past its glory days, as well.
The Warriors are all too familiar with the twilight of an era, as the once dominant dynasty are fighting to compete for one last title--or maybe a couple--before a complete overhaul sets in with the departure of longtime staples Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.
Golden State is also no stranger to being a destination for stars looking for a new home to compete for championships, with Kevin Durant making one of the most infamous free agency decisions in NBA history to join the Warriors in the midst of their dynasty run to form one of the most lethal units ever.
Of course, James and Davis have history together that includes a championship, which adds credence to the idea that the pair would want to reunite, especially in their final seasons.
Even without James choosing Golden State, Davis remains a viable option for the Warriors looking to add another piece to a lineup that is a far cry from years past.
While this latest incarnation of the Warriors would be much older, they would have the talent and experience that many others around the league could not match. The biggest issues for Golden State may come from themselves and staying healthy than any other challengers around the league.
It remains to be seen if the rumors are all smoke and mirrors or end up holding water, but it appears that Davis is still a valued target even if his stop in Dallas proved to be a resounding unsuccess.
