Dallas eyes Toronto's promising in a recent trade proposal to bolster their young core and potentially unlock his Draymond Green-like potential.

The Dallas Mavericks are one of the teams that could be making a few deals before the NBA trade deadline comes.

And with February 5 coming quickly, trade proposals and speculation are going to be absolutely everywhere.

Bleacher Report's Dan Favale recently put up an article outlining who he thinks is every NBA team's top three players that they should target with a trade. For the Mavericks

"If the folks up north have any semblance of interest in the big man, Murray-Boyles could prove off limits," Favale writes. "Can the Mavs change that by accepting the underwater contract of Jakob Poeltl with a smile on their face? They should try to find out. CMB is perhaps the closest thing the league has to a Draymond Green facsimile."

Dallas is currently in 11th place in the Western Conference standings with a 19-28 record, but that is due in no small part to the fact that two of the team's stars are injured.

But even with the stars of Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis healthy, they are still not exactly the future of the team, as they are both approaching the end of their potentially Hall of Fame Careers.

Making a trade for a rookie like Murray-Boyles would strengthen the Mavericks' young core, and would give Cooper Flagg a teammate that is around his age that could also develop alongside him.

CMB is currently averaging just under eight points and five rebounds per game, and he is doing so on a very solid 53 percent from the field. He has started in just 14 of the 38 games he has played in, but has done very well in the time that he has been given.

So much so that he averages just under 13 points and nine rebounds per 36 minutes, if given a bigger role elsewhere, he could flourish and become the player many think he could be.

And those people think he could be another Draymond Green-like player, as he is a menace on the defensive end and has a solid handle for his 6-7, 245-pound frame.

If the Mavericks were to consider making a move for the Raptors' rookie at the deadline, they could help unlock his full potential and give Flagg his right-hand man for the foreseeable future.
