The eve of the NBA Draft has stirred up trade rumors around the Association.

The Dallas Mavericks hold the No. 9 and 30 picks in the first round of the NBA Draft, commencing on June 23. On the eve of the event in Brooklyn, trade rumors around the league have surfaced.

Among them, the Mavs are reportedly in serious talks of trading at least one of their first-round selections. For weeks, the team has expressed interest in moving up or down in the draft order, but this latest suggestion makes trading down a more realistic plan.

Marc Stein of The Stein Line reports that "Dallas and Oklahoma City, amid the Mavericks' myriad trade discussions throughout the weekend, have discussed a potential swap of No. 9 to the Thunder for the Nos. 12 and 17 picks."

Over the weekend, the Thunder have already finalized a move by sending young role-playing guard Aaron Wiggins to the Atlanta Hawks for two future second-round draft picks. This offloads a contributing roster spot, where OKC could be in search of adding a top-10 lottery pick from this deep class.

For the Mavs and the new front office duo of president Masai Ujiri and general manager Mike Schmitz, there has not been any clear indication that the team is targeting a specific player or position. Dallas has "cast a wide net" when it comes to pre-draft workouts, and the thought process here is that a swap with the Thunder could return two top-20 prospects in the place of one at No. 9 that the team may not be head-over-heels sold on.

Around the league, teams are sitting on the edge of their seat when it comes to a blockbuster move that would likely open the floodgates of pre-draft dealing.

The Milwaukee Bucks are nearing a trade of superstar forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, and the two reported front-runners are the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat - coincidentally, the two teams out of the East that the Mavericks have met in all of their appearances in the NBA Finals.

ESPN's Shams Charania believes a trade involving Antetokounmpo is imminent.

"A trade and a resolution is coming for the Milwaukee Bucks with Giannis Antetokounmpo before the NBA Draft on Tuesday night. ... Both teams [Celtics and Heat] are Giannis' preferred trade destinations."

A move with Boston would likely package NBA Finals MVP Jaylen Brown to Milwaukee, along with a young player and first-round draft capital this year (pick No. 27) and next year.

Reporter Brian Windhorst adds that Boston is "all-in" in the pursuit of adding the Greek Freak.

In Miami, one piece to the puzzle could be shooting guard Tyler Herro, who has been linked in rumors to the Mavs this offseason.
