The Brooklyn Nets rookie went off scoring wise in carrying a depleted roster, delivering a double-double.
Egor Demin took advantage of returning to the state where he became a college basketball star.
And carried a depleted Brooklyn Nets team in the process.
The rookie and former BYU Cougar delivered 25 points then pulled in 10 rebounds as the Nets snapped their seven-game slide, beating the Utah Jazz 103-93 on Friday night.
Demin hit history on the night as well -- as he now has 34 straight games featuring a made three-pointer (new record for NBA rookies).
However, he ignited the Delta Center crowd with this viscous throwdown -- finishing a thunderous slam dunk with his opposite hand during the third quarter.
The Nets' X account (formerly Twitter) even shared a snap shot of the dunk.
Demin stepped his game up another level as names like Tyrese Martin and Michael Porter Jr. (personal reasons) were out of the lineup for Brooklyn.
"He's a big, big part of our team," Demin told Meghan Triplett of the YES Network in referring to Porter. "But we've got to be able to function without him too. So this win means a lot. Especially with me being back home -- I can say."
Yes indeed, BYU fans showed up with some even flashing his No. 8 Nets jersey in support of him. He also spoke about hitting the record, but credited a fellow rookie in opening the game up for him and the Nets.
"I was playing with Nolan Traore for the first time and his penetrations opened up so much for us and our bigs. The way he's [playing] aggressive, it makes everybody's life easier," Demin added.
He concluded how it was "very special" to return to his home college state, where he became a first round draft pick out of BYU. He said he felt the "BYU love from here."
Demin wasn't the only one hitting past the 20-point mark. Cam Thomas joined him in scoring 21 points while returning from injury. Fellow reserve Day'Ron Sharpe tacked on 16 points off the bench.
Danny Wolf became one more impressive rookie on the evening -- dropping 14 points and blocking one shot. Traore finished with seven points. Brooklyn went on to outscore Utah 26-18 to close out the fourth quarter.
The victory snapped a seven-game slide for Brooklyn and gave the Nets their seventh road win of the season.
