How to Watch Rockets at Nets cover image

Brooklyn starts 2026 with hosting Houston. Here are the watch options for the first Nets game in the new year.

Last year ended with a 10-20 mark for the Brooklyn Nets.

However, they're aiming to carry the 7-4 record they delivered in December over to the new year.

Brooklyn starts 2026 facing the Houston Rockets, which will take place inside the Barclays Center. But will the game air in front of a nationally televised audience? Especially on a day designated for college football?

Nets fans and also those cheering for the Rockets have watch options -- but will require subscriptions or checking the local listings.

AT&T Sports Southwest will carry the game for the Rockets fans. Then fans on both sides can look into NBA League Pass.

The Premium option is offered at $114.99 -- which allows more in-arena access for fans plus features no commercials.

But there's a cheaper standard option too. That one is offered at $79.99 and comes with commercials but not the in-arena access fans would crave.

As for Nets fans, their option for watching resides out east and locally. Brooklyn fans can turn to the YES Network for coverage of the game set for 6 p.m. ET. Noah or Ian Eagle will provide the play-by-play coverage of Nets games. NBA legend and former Nets star Vince Carter joins them on the color commentary side.

Brooklyn previously fell 120-107 to Golden State in closing out the 2025 year. Michael Porter Jr. scored 27 points in 36 minutes. Rookie Egor Demin scored 23 to finish second on the Nets. No other Nets player, though, reached past 19 points.

Nic Claxton scored 15 while Cam Thomas added 13 on the evening. Noah Clowney was the last in double figures in scoring 11.

Houston, meanwhile, owns the reverse record of what the Nets bring to Barclays. The Rockets are also riding a three-game winning streak for this non-conference game.

A familiar face to the Nets leads Houston in scoring -- as Kevin Durant enters the evening averaging 25.5 points per game. He's joined by rising star Alperen Sengun who's averaging 22.7 points per game. Amen Thompson comes in scoring 17.8 a night. Jabari Smith (15.8 PPG), Reed Sheppard (13.4 PPG) and Tari Eason (11.5) are the last Rockets reaching double figures.

The Houston game begins a back-to-back for the Nets. They travel south to face the Washington Wizards on Friday in an Atlantic showdown next.
