The Brooklyn Nets will wrap up their preseason Wednesday night when they host the Miami Heat, looking to finish exhibition play with a perfect 4-0 record before the regular season begins next week. Brooklyn will also have an opportunity to get rookie guard Mikel Brown Jr. on the floor for the first time as he prepares for his NBA debut.

The Nets enter Wednesday's matchup at 3-0 after picking up wins over the Charlotte Hornets, Philadelphia 76ers, and Washington Wizards. Brooklyn opened the preseason with a dominant 124-90 victory over Charlotte before beating Philadelphia 114-108 and defeating Washington 131-122 on Monday night.

The Heat will provide another test for Brooklyn, particularly with Miami expected to have its regular starters available after resting several key players in its most recent game.

Wednesday's game is scheduled to tip off at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Brooklyn has gotten contributions from several players throughout its first three preseason games. Michael Porter Jr. led the Nets with 16 points against Charlotte, while Julius Randle has already shown what he can bring to the offense after joining the team this offseason.

Egor Dëmin, Keon Ellis and Nolan Traoré have also had opportunities to make an impression, with Traoré providing a spark off the bench in Brooklyn's first two games. The Nets will have one final opportunity to work through their rotations before the games begin to count.

One of the biggest storylines heading into Wednesday is the expected preseason debut of Brown Jr. The sixth overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft has missed Brooklyn's first three games while recovering from an ankle injury, but he is expected to make his first appearance against Miami.

Brown impressed during Summer League, showing flashes of the scoring ability and playmaking that made him one of the top selections in this year's draft. Seeing how those skills translate against NBA competition will be worth watching, especially with the regular season just around the corner.

Wednesday will also give Brown a chance to get comfortable playing alongside his new teammates and learn more of head coach Jordi Fernández's system. With Brooklyn's season opener coming next week, every minute on the floor will be valuable for the rookie.

Miami enters the matchup with a 2-1 preseason record. The Heat opened with a 129-105 win over the Toronto Raptors before beating the New Orleans Pelicans 128-118. They most recently suffered a narrow 125-124 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday.

Miami rested all five of its starters in that loss, including Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bam Adebayo, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins and Davion Mitchell. The group is expected to be available against Brooklyn, which could make Wednesday's contest a tougher test for the Nets.

Despite those absences, Miami's younger players took advantage of their increased opportunities against Minnesota. Ryan Conwell led the way with 22 points, five rebounds and nine assists, while Vladislav Goldin added 18 points and six rebounds. Nikola Jović finished with 16 points and six rebounds, and Pelle Larsson contributed 14 points and five assists.

With its starters expected back, the Heat will look to finish its preseason on a positive note before facing Orlando on Friday night.

For Brooklyn, Wednesday is the final chance to fine-tune its lineup and give players one last opportunity to make their case for a role in Fernández's rotation. The coaching staff will get another look at how the backcourt minutes are distributed, how the frontcourt fits together, and where Brown can contribute as he gets up to speed.

The Nets are also chasing an unbeaten preseason finish. Brooklyn, Boston and Portland are the only teams that have yet to lose a preseason game, giving the Nets a chance to carry a perfect record into the regular season.

Brooklyn opens the regular season next Wednesday at Barclays Center against Charlotte, the same team it defeated by 34 points in its preseason opener. Before turning its attention to that matchup, the Nets will look to close out the preseason with another win while giving Brown valuable minutes against a Miami team expected to be much closer to full strength.

Tip-off between the Nets and Heat is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday night.
