Draymond Green's cryptic "nine days" comment hints at a looming Michael Porter Jr. trade, sparking speculation about an imminent Nets deal.

The Brooklyn Nets have a massive decision to make regarding their first-time All-Star hopeful and 25.9-point scorer Michael Porter Jr. prior to the NBA's Feb. 5 trade deadline.

Dealing away the 27-year-old NBA champion forward would make plenty of sense for a rebuilding Nets squad currently prioritizing the development of their young talents such as rookie standout guard Egor Dëmin, but the mystery of it all concerns which contending team will eventually step up and make an offer for the ex-Denver Nuggets star that Brooklyn cannot refuse.

With that being said, an intriguing comment from Golden State Warriors star and 2017 Defensive Player of the Year Draymond Green may have unintentionally given fans an idea of when a trade could be coming, and where he'll ultimately wind up after Feb. 5.

On a recent episode of Green's podcast, The Draymond Green Show, the 4-time NBA champion decided to dedicate a segment to the impressive rise of Porter Jr., but he might have mistakenly given the rest of the NBA world some insight into talks between the Warriors and Nets on a potential trade.

"Michael Porter Jr. is one of the guys leading in trade talks, and that's (because) their team isn't great and he's playing great basketball," Green shared Friday.

"And when you have a team like that that is looking to rebuild and you come across someone like Michael Porter Jr., they usually flip that guy for draft picks," Green continued.

"Michael Porter Jr. has definitely made the jump and has made himself a very valuable asset for the Brooklyn Nets, we shall see what they do with it over the next nine days..."

Nine days -- That's an interesting timeframe to mention considering that the actual deadline day is not set until 27 days after that episode released on Friday. This accelerated timeline could mean that the Nets and the Warriors have already engaged in somewhat serious talks centered around Porter Jr.

Though it's not confirmed in the slightest that Green gave away information on the making of a massive transaction, ClutchPoints' NBA insider Brett Siegel took notice of this 'nine days' comment and questioned if there was a deeper, hidden message to uncover.

"Draymond Green has given Michael Porter Jr. high praise over the last few weeks and in today’s episode, said it will be interesting to see what the Nets do with MPJ over the 'next 9 days," Siegel shared via X on Friday night.

"Interesting wording & timing from the Warriors’ vet."

"Something, nothing, or everything?"

At the end of the day, Green's mention of a nine-day timeframe might not wind up being as significant as it's been made out to be, but it could correlate perfectly with Golden State's Jonathan Kuminga and the day that his trade restriction is set to be lifted on Jan. 15, depending on when Green's episode was recorded.

In that case, rumors surrounding a potential Kuminga-Porter Jr. swap could begin to intensify as that day inches closer, in tandem with deadline day in early February.
