After earning another shot with the Brooklyn Nets last season, Tre Scott has found his next opportunity overseas. The veteran forward is set to continue his career with Germany's Bamberg Baskets.
Tre Scott's stint with the Brooklyn Nets organization has come to an end.
According to Connor Long, the veteran forward has signed with Bamberg Baskets of Germany's Basketball Bundesliga (BBL), giving him another opportunity overseas after spending parts of the last two seasons with both the Brooklyn Nets and Long Island Nets.
Scott, who will turn 30 later this year, appeared in six games for Brooklyn during the 2025-26 season after signing a pair of hardship contracts in April. He started four of those contests and averaged 8.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.8 blocks while playing 30.3 minutes per game.
While his NBA opportunities have been limited throughout his career, Scott has consistently found ways to earn them through his play in the G League and overseas.
The Brunswick, Georgia native was a standout at McIntosh County Academy, where he finished as the school's all-time leading scorer with 1,824 career points. During his senior season, Scott averaged 21.6 points, 14.1 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 3.5 blocks per game, earning Georgia Region 2A Player of the Year honors for the second straight year before committing to Cincinnati over programs including Alabama, Clemson and Georgia.
Scott redshirted his first season with the Bearcats before gradually working his way into a larger role. By his junior year, he had become a full-time starter, and as a senior he put together the best season of his college career.
He averaged 11.4 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.5 steals per game while earning First Team All-American Athletic Conference honors. Scott was also named the AAC Defensive Player of the Year and Most Improved Player, becoming Cincinnati's first player since the 1982-83 season to average a double-double.
Like many players in the 2020 draft class, Scott saw his college career end unusually when the NCAA Tournament was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
After going undrafted later that year, Scott began building a professional career that has taken him all over the basketball world. He's spent time with the Salt Lake City Stars, Cleveland Charge, Greensboro Swarm, Osceola Magic, and Long Island Nets in the G League while also earning NBA appearances with both the Cleveland Cavaliers and Nets.
His career has also included stops in France, Puerto Rico and Canada.
Scott first joined the Long Island Nets in December 2024 after the team acquired him from the Osceola Magic in exchange for Patrick Gardner. He later returned to Long Island ahead of the 2025-26 season, and his strong play eventually led to another call-up from Brooklyn during the final weeks of the regular season.
Before agreeing to terms with Bamberg, Scott was playing for the Winnipeg Sea Bears in the Canadian Elite Basketball League. In nine games, he averaged 11.8 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.2 steals.
Germany now becomes the next stop for Scott as he enters his seventh professional season. His time with Brooklyn may have only lasted six games, but it added another NBA chapter to a career built on persistence, and he'll head into the 2026-27 season looking to continue that overseas with Bamberg Baskets.
