Former Nets guard Tyson Etienne is headed overseas after signing with Paris Basketball. The move comes after he became the Long Island Nets' all-time leading scorer and spent the past two seasons working his way from the G League to the NBA.

Tyson Etienne is taking the next step in his basketball career.

After spending the past two seasons in the Brooklyn Nets organization, the 26-year-old guard has signed with Paris Basketball, the club announced Thursday. The move marks the first overseas opportunity of Etienne's professional career.

Etienne spent the 2025-26 season on a two-way contract with Brooklyn, appearing in 24 NBA games and making two starts. He averaged 7.9 points and 1.7 assists in 15.8 minutes per game while shooting 40.0 percent from the field and 39.8 percent from beyond the arc.

He continued to produce whenever he suited up for the Long Island Nets, averaging 16.3 points, 3.8 assists and 2.8 rebounds in 32 G League appearances. His ability to score from the perimeter remained one of his biggest strengths, as he connected on 39.4 percent of his three-pointers while averaging nearly 10 attempts per game.

Etienne also etched his name into Long Island Nets history last season. During a Jan. 28 game against the Motor City Cruise, he scored 15 points to become the franchise's all-time leading scorer, surpassing Jordan Bowden with his 1,163rd career point. It was another milestone in what turned into an impressive run with Brooklyn's G League affiliate.

His path to the NBA wasn't a direct one. After going undrafted out of Wichita State in 2022, Etienne spent two seasons with the College Park Skyhawks before getting a training camp opportunity with Brooklyn in 2024. Although he was waived before the regular season, he landed with Long Island and quickly earned a major role.

That opportunity paid off. During the 2024-25 season, Etienne averaged 17.1 points, 3.5 assists and 3.1 rebounds while shooting 46.4 percent from the field and 41.8 percent from three. His production earned him a two-way contract with Brooklyn in March 2025, and he made his NBA debut later that month.

The Nets brought him back on another two-way deal for the 2025-26 season, where he continued to provide reliable scoring whenever he was called upon. Whether it was knocking down three-pointers in Brooklyn or leading the offense in Long Island, Etienne made the most of his opportunities throughout his time in the organization.

Now he'll continue his career with Paris Basketball, which competes in France's top domestic league, LNB Élite, as well as the EuroLeague. The move gives Etienne a chance to play a larger role while competing against some of the top clubs in Europe.

Although his NBA stint was brief, Etienne leaves the Nets organization with plenty to show for it. He worked his way from a G League contract to the NBA, became Long Island's all-time leading scorer, and now heads to Europe looking to build on the momentum he created over the past two seasons.
