The Brooklyn Nets are officially getting ready for the 2026-27 season. Here’s when Media Day and training camp will take place as Sean Marks, Jordi Fernández and the rest of the roster prepare for a new campaign.
The Brooklyn Nets are officially getting ready to turn the page toward the 2026-27 season.
Brooklyn announced Wednesday that it will hold its annual Media Day on Monday, Sept. 28, at the HSS Training Center, with training camp beginning the following day.
Media Day will be the first chance for the Nets' players, coaches and front office to speak with the media ahead of the new season. General Manager Sean Marks and Head Coach Jordi Fernández are scheduled to speak at 10 a.m., with players available to follow.
Media members are expected to arrive by 9:30 a.m. at the HSS Training Center.
Following Media Day, the Nets will begin training camp on Tuesday, Sept. 29. Camp will run through Monday, Oct. 5, before Brooklyn begins its preseason schedule.
There will be several things to watch once the Nets get on the court.
Brooklyn enters the season with plenty of continuity from last year's roster while adding a handful of new pieces. Julius Randle arrived via trade, while Keon Ellis and Mo Wagner joined the team in free agency. The Nets also added Mikel Brown Jr. and Joshua Jefferson in the 2026 NBA Draft, with 10 of the team's 15 rostered players returning from last season.
There is continuity among the two-way players as well. Two of Brooklyn's three two-way players are returning, while Tyler Bilodeau joins the group as the lone new addition.
That mix of returning players and new faces should make training camp particularly important for Fernández and his coaching staff.
The Nets have several young players who will be looking to take another step this season, including Egor Dëmin, Nolan Traoré and Danny Wolf. The development of those players, along with the integration of the team's new additions, will be among the things to watch once camp gets underway.
Training camp should also provide the first real look at how Fernández plans to put the roster together.
Fernández is entering his third season as Brooklyn's head coach after taking over the team in 2024. With a number of returning players already familiar with his system, training camp will give him an opportunity to build on that foundation while figuring out how the new pieces fit alongside them.
Roles and rotations will begin to take shape over the course of the week, although the Nets will still have the preseason to continue working through those decisions.
For now, the focus is on getting everyone back in Brooklyn and ready to go.
Media Day will officially kick off the 2026-27 season, with Marks, Fernández, and the players all expected to speak about what lies ahead.
Sept. 28 is now less than two weeks away, meaning the start of another Nets season is right around the corner.
