The Chicago Bulls are escaping a wicked winter storm to head to Barclays Center against the Brooklyn Nets.
Will the Nets become cold-blooded here and add another win over Chicago? Or go cold on the floor?
Brooklyn won by 10 back on Dec. 3 -- all part of a strong December for the franchise that saw seven victories out of 11 contests.
Times are different for this home contest for the Nets, though. They have a losing skid to snap as losers of five straight. The Nets also have a lineup rotation to figure out.
And it leads into the three things to look forward to in this Friday evening contest with a 7 p.m. ET tipoff.
1 -- Nets go Deep to Reignite Shooting Touch
Brooklyn misfired from behind the arc in the loss to the New Orleans Pelicans.
The Nets shot only 37% from the floor in the three-point loss. But shot 41% against the Bulls one month ago.
Count on Brooklyn to stay true to the long range game. The Nets have a young roster built more for outside shooting compared to wearing teams down inside.
But the Nets need Michael Porter Jr. to potentially recreate his 33-point outing from the last meeting. And get Noah Clowney (six threes in the last meeting) plus Egor Demin to ignite.
2 -- Jonathan Kuminga Chatter Will be Presented
The Golden State Warriors forward rose as a trade target officially on Thursday.
His name has been linked to the Nets for awhile...as a possible exchange with MPJ.
Sean Marks will need to see if anything additional can come from this deal, though. Sending away Porter still leaves a hole in outside shooting options.
Marks will want a sharpshooter either in the trade market or wait until the June 2026 NBA Draft. But Kuminga will more than likely be mentioned over the broadcast -- or at least inside the arena.
3 -- A Rookie Will Dazzle
Maybe Nolan Traore as a rising facilitator?
Or Danny Wolf adding some muscle down low against the Bulls' bigs?
Yet the headliner among this rookie class remains Demin, who'll be counted on to deliver a hot hand for this game and to stop this losing slide. Regardless, one of the members of this deep first-year class will need to step up...and dazzle in the process against the Bulls.
