Nets leverage shrewd trades, securing draft riches and breakout talent like Michael Porter Jr., fueling a promising future.

Following a 20-62 finish, the Brooklyn Nets are positioned for a top pick in this year's NBA draft, capturing the top odds at the No. 1 overall pick and a 52.1-percent chance at landing in the top four.

The Nets definitely need to hit on their lottery pick this season, but have also accumulated draft compensation going forward, making smart moves over the past few seasons.

On Tuesday, the fan site BrooklynNetcast on X posted a graphic depicting the plentiful return the Nets have received from moving Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Dorian Finney-Smith and Dennis Schroeder over the past years.

Both Schroeder and Finney-Smith played less than one full season with their new teams, making Brooklyn the clear winners of those transactions.

To this point, the Nets have recouped four additional firsts and five seconds, while adding Michael Porter Jr., Ziaire Williams, Ben Saraf and Nolan Traore.

While players like Johnson and Bridges are still producing on their new teams, none of the four traded players match up to Porter, who posted a career-season in his first year with Brooklyn.

The 6-foot-10 sharpshooting wing averaged 24.2 points, 7.1 rebounds and a career-best three assists, recently saying he would "love" to sign a long-term deal with the Nets.

"If it was up to me, I'd love to sign an extension with this franchise," Porter said in his postseason presser. "I would love to spend many, many years in Brooklyn and make this my home and watch this franchise take off."

Traore and Saraf, two of the Nets' five rookies in last year's class, both showed flashes that they could be contributors in Brooklyn's backcourt going forward.

In Brooklyn's late season 121-115 victory over the Washington Wizards, Traore recorded a career-high 23 points, knocking down five 3-pointers. The rookie also added seven assists.

His performance marked a fourth straight game of double-digit scoring for the Frenchman, who is averaged 8.9 points and 3.8 assists on the season.

Saraf also had a strong end to the season, recording career highs in points (15) and steals (four), while shooting 5-for-10 from the field, and adding four assists against the Portland Trail Blazers.

In April, Saraf averaged 14 points per game in five appearances, shattering his previous best scoring mark with back-to-back 19-point performances.

While Porter's breakout and potential long-term commitment to Brooklyn highlights this haul, the young talent and nine additional picks position the Nets for a brighter future.

The team's large quantity of draft picks also positions them to make a move to acquire a top-end talent in the future.
