How to Watch Nets at Pistons, Plus Betting Preview cover image

Brooklyn is facing its first 11-game losing streak since the 2021-2022 season. Here's how to watch and betting preview.

The Brooklyn Nets took its most embarrassing loss of the season against the Detroit Pistons back on Feb. 1.

Now the franchise is heading towards their 11th straight loss, which marks the longest Nets losing skid since 2021-2022.

This game immediately feels like a turn off, right? Well, if you're into milestones this is the game for you.

And we're not taking about if the Nets can match that infamous losing streak. Michael Porter Jr. is chasing history.

MPJ reignited his three-point shooting touch despite the loss to the Miami Heat Thursday. Now he's 62 threes away from shattering the franchise record. Porter averages 3.4 baskets from behind the arc per game (has made 172 total as of Saturday).

Obviously there's no way he'll hit all 62 against this Pistons defense. Detroit is one of the better defenses in the league and the 77 they bottled against Brooklyn a month ago is proof.

The Nets took a 53-point beatdown in that previous meeting. FanDuel Sportsbook isn't giving Brooklyn much of a chance in this one as a 14-point underdog.

If anything, Brooklyn can continue to increase its chances of landing inside the top five of the upcoming NBA Draft lottery. Selections are officially made on May 10 with the Nets picked to land at No. 5

Now there's the feeling Kingston Flemings of Houston would help the Nets greatly at No. 5...especially in facing future battles with the east's best like Detroit or New York. Sam Vecenie of The Athletic is one endorsing this pick for Brooklyn.

"The Houston guard is leading Kelvin Sampson’s offense wonderfully, attacking the rim and creating easy shots both through his ability to get paint touches and to kick out to his teammates. He’s averaging 16.4 points and 5.2 assists while shooting 48.6 percent from the field and 37.9 percent from 3, but he is also very much an eye-test player," Vecenie wrote in his mock draft. "You can feel his explosiveness and burst every time he touches the court. He’s also an excellent decision-maker and has gotten better defensively throughout the year."

Flemings would've helped the Nets greatly on Saturday as he could've created more space for Porter, Nolan Troare and Egor Demin to attack.

But Brooklyn will need to wait until June to see if the franchise can grab him. And the Nets unfortunately will have to wait a little longer to snap the losing skid.

This game will be aired on the YES Network for Nets fans then FanDuel Sports Network Detroit.
