Yuri Collins has spent the last two seasons playing for the Santa Cruz Warriors (G League).
Over the offseason, the point guard signed with the Brooklyn Nets (but he has now been waived).
Via NBA G League: "Yuri Collins had one of the GREATEST passing seasons in G League history! ๐ #NBAAssistWeek
The 6โ0โ PG averaged a league-high 10.8 APG which was the Gโs highest assist average since the 2009-10 season. Collins led the @gleaguewarriors to the postseason and earned his first NBA call-up to the @warriors."
Collins could end up being a huge addition to the Long Island Nets.
Last season, he had averages of 14.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, 10.5 assists and 1.5 steals per contest while shooting 41.0% from the field in 34 games.
Via The Long Island Nets (on September 9): "The Long Island Nets have acquired the returning player rights to guard Yuri Collins from the Santa Cruz Warriors in exchange for a first and second round pick in the 2026 NBA G League Draft."
Last year, the Nets finished as the 12th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 26-56 record.
Considering they are such a young team, it's possible that Collins could get called up to the NBA at some point.
