The Celtics are listening to offers for Jaylen Brown despite team president Brad Stevens calling him "valued" by the organization Tuesday night.

The Boston Celtics were firmly in the mix to land former Milwaukee Bucks star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, who was traded to the Miami Heat instead, and All-Star forward Jaylen Brown was the centerpiece of that.

That has now set off a bit of a chain reaction where the Celtics are now looking to pivot and potentially move Brown with multiple teams vying for the star.

The gamble for Antetokounmpo didn’t pay off, as it tipped Boston’s hand to the rest of the league letting them know that Brown is on the table and available after offering him as part of their trade package to the Bucks.

One of those teams that came forward was reportedly the Minnesota Timberwolves, who were looking at Brown before ultimately settling on a trade for LaMelo Ball.

To read more about Brown’s future with the franchise and why a departure seems imminent, here is the full story from Celtics Roundtable writer Brady Farkas.

And while team president Brad Stevens spoke of Brown’s value to the organization on Tuesday night ahead of the NBA draft, the rumor mill doesn’t help quell things, despite Stevens letting on that the sides have been engaged in multiple one-on-one talks this summer.

Brown is coming off a career-best year where he averaged 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game, leading to him finishing sixth in MVP votes and earning a spot on the All-NBA second team.

He still has three years left on a five-year, $285.4 million deal, and is eligible to sign a two-year deal in late July worth $141.9 million.

It would be the end of a legacy era in Boston where Brown has spent a decade, secured five All-Star nods, two trips to the NBA finals, the 2024 title, and Finals MVP.
