The Charlotte Hornets point guard was involved in a collision on Wednesday afternoon that thankfully doesn't look to be too serious.

The Charlotte Hornets thankfully didn’t have an addition to their injury report following a collision. Hornets point guard LaMelo Ball was involved in a two-car crash in Charlotte on Wednesday afternoon but did not suffer any injuries. Accordingly, he is not listed on the team’s injury report and is expected to play against the Houston Rockets on Thursday night. Ball collided with another vehicle in an intersection, with video posted that showed Ball exiting his Hummer truck without any apparent injuries. According to the Charlotte Observer, the other person involved was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The video showed that Bell’s front left tire was missing after the crash, and the other driver exiting his vehicle to walk towards Ball’s following the collision. The incident occurred shortly before 5:00 p.m. ET. It’s great news for Ball as he’s stayed pretty healthy throughout his 2025-26 campaign and will look to have that continue. His NBA career has been plagued by injuries since he was drafted No. 3 overall in 2020, with less than 50 games played in three seasons.

Here is the full story from Hornets Roundtable writer Matthew Schmidt on the positive update for Charlotte and Ball.

As of Thursday afternoon, the Charlotte police haven’t released any info on the incident and the Hornets have not made a comment. Ball is currently averaging 19.3 points, 7.4 assists and 4.8 rebounds in 45 games this season with an average 27.7 minutes per game for Charlotte. The Hornets are looking to keep building towards a playoff push out of the All-Star break against the Rockets, winning 10 of their last 11 to enter Thursday night with a 26-29 record.
