Keyontae Johnson has appeared in nine NBA games for the Oklahoma City Thunder.

He finished that season (2023-24) with averages of 1.2 points and 1.1 rebounds per contest while shooting 31.3% from the field.

This week, the Charlotte Hornets announced that they had waived the 25-year-old.

Via Charlotte Hornets PR: "OFFICIAL: @hornets have signed forward Brandon Slater and waived forward Keyontae Johnson."

Johnson was the 50th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft out of Florida and Kansas State.

He has also spent a lot of time in the G League.

Via NBA G League (on February 26): "Keyontae Johnson continues to DOMINATE! The @greensboroswarm star recorded a game-high 33 points and posted his third 30+ point performance in the month of February."

The Hornets finished the 2024-25 season as the 14th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 19-63 record.

They last made the NBA playoffs during the 2016 season when Kemba Walker was still on the roster.
