It was an emotional Friday for the Miami Heat. Fresh off a tough four-game West Coast trip that didn't go well with three losses, the Heat hosted the Charlotte Hornets at the Kaseya Center in Miami, but other things took top priority.

As the team flight was landing back in Miami early Thursday morning, the $6.6 million home for Heat coach Erik Spoelstra was burning to the ground. Dozen of fire crews worked for hours to contain the fire, but the house was destroyed.

Spoelstra went straight to him house and watched in disbelief as his houser burned to the ground. Thankfully, no one was injured. His children were at his mother's house why he was on the road.

The Heat won 126-108, and there were plenty of crazy details in the game, too. But first, let's get emotional watch Spoelstra talk about the fire, with his three kids joining him at the podium.

"Thank you, everybody, for the overwhelming support. The South Florida community has just been absolutely remarkable. It's obviously been something that's uniquely challenging for our family, but Spoelstras are resilient, right buddy?

"Things in the house, those things can be replaced. We're just grateful that everyone is safe and in a great place. I'm appreciative for staying in the routine. The kids wanted to come to the game, and they wanted to go school, so I came to work, too. I appreciate the support.''

The game itself was a little crazy, too. The Heat scored 53 points in the first quarter, the most ever in a quarter in team history. It was the second-most points ever in NBA history in a first quarter. But then the Hornets went on a 27-2 run to take the lead.

The Heat won the game with defense, allowing only 39 points in the second half, getting the win to 5-4 at home and 3-0 on the road. Here's how it all played out in the game story from Heat Roundtable writer Anthony Aguirre.

Heat Set New Record With Home Victory Against Hornets Heat Set New Record With Home Victory Against Hornets The Miami Heat found redemption last night against the Charlotte Hornets, while also starting the quest for the In-Season Tournament Cup on a great note.

Norman Powell led the Heat with 25 points, and they had six players in double figures. Charlotte rookie Kon Knueppel led all scorers with 30 points, hitting five three-pointers.

This was the first of four straight home games for the Heat. They play Portland on Saturday night, then have back-to-back games against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday and Wednesday.
