    The Los Angeles Lakers will play their first game of the 2025-26 preseason on October 3 when they face off against the Phoenix Suns.

    Before the game, the team announced that they had signed two new players.

    Via The Lakers: "The Los Angeles Lakers have signed forward Anton Watson and guard Nate Williams."

    Many fans reacted to the news on social media.

    @kyriecenterig: "Lakers superteam, fairs 😂"

    The Lakers finished last season as the third seed in the Western Conference with a 52-30 record.

    However, they lost to Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the 2025 NBA playoffs (in five games).

    With Luka Doncic and LeBron James on the roster, the Lakers will be seen by many as a contender to win the Western Conference.
