    While Erik Spoelstra and his Miami Heat basketball team was flying home from Denver early Thursday morning, the long-time coach's home in Coral Gables, Fla. was destroyed by fire. More that 20 unit fought the blaze for several hours.

    Fire officials said "the home was unoccupied" when the blaze broke out around 4:30 a.m. ET, and that no one was injuried. The Heat's flight landed shortly after 5 a.m. and Spoelstra went to he home after landing.  According to WFOR-TV, the CBS affiliate in Miami, he was seen walking around the outside of the property as the fire continued, sometimes stopping and holding his head in disbelief.

    Drone footage from the TV affiliate showed that much of the home was reduced to charred rubble.

    Spoelstra has been the Heat's head coach since 2008. He was recently named head coach of the 2028 U.S. Olympic team. The visuals from the fire are heartbreaking.

    According to reports, Spoelstra just moved into the $6.6 million house after months of renovations.
