Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James knows Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic is special
The Denver Nuggets completed their sweep of the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday night, and superstar center Nikola Jokic made history in the process. Passing Wilt Chamberlain for the most triple-doubles in a single playoff run, Jokic once again put up dominant numbers.
While fans have rightfully become infatuated with Jokic's numbers, Lakers star LeBron James said people don't talk enough about his game in general. Speaking with reporters after the game, James gave a ton of high praise to Jokic:
"I know how great Joker is," James said. "There are certain guys in this league that play the game a certain way, a certain way that I like to play the game as well, and he’s one of them. Where you are always off balance when you are guarding a player like that, because of his ability to score, rebound, shoot. He sees plays before they happen. There’s not many guys in our league like that.You already knew you was going against a beast once the series started... Everybody gets cracked up into his stats, but I don’t think a lot of people talk about this part of his game. Maybe it’s not talked about because a lot of people don’t understand it. But I do. He's special."
James knows Jokic is a special player, and has now battled him twice in the Western Conference Finals.
