The Denver Nuggets are off to a 9-2 start on the season following a win against the Los Angeles Clippers on Nov. 12, which marked their sixth win in a row.

Through the first 11 games of the new season, this team has been rolling, and it appears the Nuggets have a pretty simple formula for success, according to guard Bruce Brown. Or at least they did against the Clippers.

“Get the ball to [Jokić] and let him work,” Brown said in a postgame interview. And work he did, as Jokić came up just seven points shy of a career high, scoring 55 points in the Nuggets’ win.

“They gotta send a double or something,” Brown added. “Just letting [Jokić] play one-on-one, I don’t think that’s the answer. But obviously if he doubled, we got a bunch of shooters, so I don’t know what they [are] going to do with him.”

Brown's Return to Denver

Brown rejoined the Nuggets this season after winning a championship with the team back in 2023. In the interim, Brown spent half a season with the Indiana Pacers, two half-seasons with the Toronto Raptors, and a half-season with the New Orleans Pelicans.

After two seasons of trades and movement, not staying with any one team for too long, Brown appears to be settling back into his old ways with the franchise he won an NBA Finals with. So far this season, he has averaged 6.6 points per game and is shooting over 40% from 3-point range.

Brown has provided a spark off the bench for the Nuggets, helping lead a second unit alongside players like Jonas Valančiūnas, Peyton Watson, and Tim Hardaway Jr. He has contributed important minutes all season, especially in both of Denver’s games against the Sacramento Kings.

In the two teams’ first meeting on Nov. 3, Brown scored 13 points, and in the second matchup earlier this week, he scored 14 points.

A Competitive Western Conference

The Nuggets sit just two games behind the Oklahoma City Thunder, who are leading the way in the Western Conference with a 12-1 record. The teams have yet to play one another, and interestingly enough, will not until February.

It’s hard to predict what the Nuggets’ record will be by the midway point of the regular season, but by the time that matchup rolls around on Feb. 1, Denver and Oklahoma City will likely still be battling it out for top billing in the conference, given the two franchises’ championship-caliber rosters and strong starts to the 2025-26 campaign.
