The Denver Nuggets came into Sunday night's matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks as heavy underdogs, and for good reason.
Denver was missing five of its top eight scorers, including superstar Nikola Jokic (bone bruise in left knee) and Jamal Murray (sprained left ankle), but that did not stop them from pulling off a gritty 108-104 victory at Ball Arena.
One player who has been a constant presence for Denver this season is guard-forward Bruce Brown, who has played in every single game for the Nuggets so far this year.
After the win over Milwaukee, Brown spoke about what it takes to stay available for his team.
"Hope I keep it that way," Brown said about his streak. "Just trying to stay healthy. Cold tub, soft tissue work... I only played 41 games last year so I'm trying to play 82."
Brown's dedication to his body has paid off for a Nuggets team dealing with injuries left and right, and the 2023 NBA champion knows how important it is to be on the court.
He finished Sunday's game with seven points, six rebounds, four assists, and one block in 24 minutes off the bench, doing a little bit of everything while his teammates stepped up around him.
The Nuggets (26-13) got huge performances from several players who are not used to carrying such heavy loads.
Tim Hardaway Jr. led the way with 25 points while Aaron Gordon added 23 points and six rebounds as the lone regular starter available.
Peyton Watson continued his impressive stretch with 19 points, eight rebounds, and six assists, while Zeke Nnaji recorded his first double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
For the Bucks (17-22), Giannis Antetokounmpo put up 31 points, 11 assists, and eight rebounds, but Milwaukee could not find enough support from the rest of the roster.
The Bucks trimmed a 15-point first-half deficit down to three points in the final minute, but missed two potential game-tying three-point attempts in the closing seconds.
Denver now sits at third in the Western Conference standings and has shown they can win games even when facing massive adversity.
With so many key players sidelined, Brown's availability has become even more valuable for a team fighting to stay afloat.
The Nuggets will travel to New Orleans on Tuesday night while the Bucks host Minnesota.
