The Denver Nuggets will square off with the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night at Ball Arena, in what's set to be the second of three meetings with their Western Conference rivals this season.
After taking home the win over the Jazz on Monday, Denver will be looking to win two straight for the first time since the end of January. The Nuggets have gone 2-2 in their last four games, beating Boston at home before dropping contests in Oklahoma City and versus Minnesota, and finally getting back on track last time out against Utah.
This season, the Nuggets and Lakers will only meet three times. Thursday night will be Denver's second home contest with Los Angeles, with their only trip to Crypto.com Arena set for Saturday, March 14.
Back on January 20th, Denver lost their lone contest with the Lakers so far this season. Nikola Jokic was still out of the lineup, and the Nuggets struggled to put points on the board.
Once again, this team will be coming into Thursday with several injuries to report. Cam Johnson is listed as QUESTIONABLE with right ankle inflammation. Johnson left Denver's contest with the Timberwolves on Sunday during the second half and missed the second night of the back-to-back on Monday.
Spencer Jones is listed as OUT with a right shoulder strain. He's missed the last two games now, after playing just two minutes against Oklahoma City last Friday. For the season, Jones is averaging 5.8 points and 3.2 rebounds on 50/41/61% shooting splits.
Peyton Watson will be OUT with a right hamstring strain. He has not played since February 4. Watson is averaging 14.9 points and 2.0 assists in 2025-26, while making just under 42% of his three-point attempts.
Aaron Gordon remains OUT, also due to a hamstring strain. His last action on the hardwood was back on January 23. Of course, his absence has been one of Denver's biggest issues recently. Gordon has played just 23 games this season and is averaging a career-best 17.7 points per game.
Maxi Kleber is QUESTIONABLE for the Lakers with back soreness. He's averaging 2.2 points in 11 minutes per game this season in Los Angeles, appearing in 34 contests.
The rest of the Lakers' rotation will be available to play.
Denver will be shorthanded, but this game will present a big opportunity for the Nuggets to finally get another win streak going. They need it badly, as they would fall another spot in the standings to sixth with a loss.
