Nuggets Big Man Could Return From Injury Against Wizards cover image

The Denver Nuggets could welcome back Jonas Valanciunas against the Washington Wizards.

The Denver Nuggets will look to snap their two-game losing streak when they travel to Washington to face the lowly Wizards. 

The Nuggets are coming off a 115-107 loss to the Lakers where they blew a double digit lead in the second half. They previously lost to the Charlotte Hornets after winning four straight. This starts a three game road trip for Denver. 

The Wizards have lost seven straight games and are coming off a 110-106 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. They have won only ten games this season. 

This is the second meeting of the season between the two teams. The Nuggets scored a 121-115 victory over the Wizards on January 17. 

Denver Nuggets Injury Report

Good news for the Nuggets as big man Jonas Valanciunas is listed as QUESTIONABLE with a right calf strain. 

Valanciunas has been out since December 31. His injury came just days after Nikola Jokic suffered an injury, leaving the Nuggets shorthanded at the center position since the start of the year. 

In his first season with the Nuggets, Valanciunas has played 33 games and is averaging 8.5 points and 4.7 rebounds. 

Jamal Murray is PROBABLE with left hip inflammation. Murray played 36 minutes against the Lakers, finishing with 28 points and 11 assists. He's missed only four games this season. 

Aaron Gordon (right hamstring strain) is also PROBABLE. He missed the game against the Hornets, but returned against the Lakers, playing 32 minutes and contributing with 18, four rebounds, and five assists. 

Tim Hardaway Jr is PROBABLE with a right knee contusion. Hardaway Jr is coming off a 0-8 from three shooting night against the Lakers, which was preceded by a 1-5 from three shooting night against the Hornets. He's missed only one game this year. 

Tamar Bates (left foot surgery), Christian Braun (left ankle sprain), Cameron Johnson (right knee bone bruise), Nikola Jokic (left knee bone bruise), and Curtis Jones (G-League) are all OUT. 

Washington Wizards Injury Report

The Wizards have been hit with a rash of illness, as veteran forward Khris Middleton, AJ Johnson, and Marvin Bagley III are all listed as QUESTIONABLE due to illness. 

Bagley and Middleton both played against the Clippers. Bagley has missed just six games this season, while Middleton has missed 12 games. 

Johnson has missed the last two games for Washington. 

Bilal Coulibaly is also QUESTIONABLE with a lower back strain. He's missed the last three games. 

Tristain Vukcevic (left hamstring strain), Cam Whitmore (right shoulder deep vein thrombosis), and Trae Young (right knee mcl sprain and quad contusion) are all OUT.
