Nuggets Have Encouraging Signs On Injury Report vs Nets cover image

The Denver Nuggets have some encouraging signs on their injury report against the Brooklyn Nets

The Denver Nuggets made a point in the 2025 offseason to address the team's depth, especially after it became evident during the playoffs that they didn't have enough players off the bench to rely on when it mattered. Therefore, they added players like Tim Hardaway Jr, Jonas Valanciunas, and Bruce Brown to the team, and they've needed their depth more than ever.

Not even halfway through the season, the Nuggets have had four of their five starters, including Nikola Jokic, suffer a multi-week injury that has caused them to use their depth and then some. This has even included two-way forward Spencer Jones featuring as a starter, but good news could be on the horizon for Denver.

Nuggets Injury Report

Following a loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Nuggets continue their road trip into Brooklyn to face the Nets on Sunday afternoon. While injuries are still all across the roster, there is some reason to have hope, as both Christian Braun (ankle) and Aaron Gordon (hamstring) have been upgraded to AVAILABLE.

Neither player has played in weeks, with Braun going down in mid-November and Gordon going down in late-November. It had been a rocky start to the season for Braun, while Gordon was on track to have the best season of his career after opening the season with a 50-point game in the loss to the Golden State Warriors.

As for the other injuries, Nikola Jokic (knee), Jonas Valanciunas (calf), and Cameron Johnson (knee) all remain OUT for the Nuggets. The only other name of note is Jamal Murray (ankle), Denver's only other starter, who was listed as PROBABLE and now is AVAILABLE.

Nets Injury Report

For the Nets, the only notable player listed as OUT for them is center Nic Claxton, who remains sidelined due to personal reasons. However, forward Michael Porter Jr., the former Nuggets star, is listed as AVAILABLE as he's been dealing with an illness.

The Nets are in no position to compete, but Porter Jr. will surely want to come out and continue his career-season against the team that traded him this past offseason. Alongside teammate Cam Thomas, Denver's defense will have its hands full with two high-end scorers for Brooklyn.

Tip-off at the Barclays Center is set for 3:30 p.m. EST, as this injury-riddled Nuggets team will be hoping for some key returns, but more importantly, a win before two tough upcoming matchups.
