Big honors for Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray.
The NBA released its annual All-NBA teams, which highlight the best players from the regular season.
It should come as no surprise that Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic was unanimously voted as first-team All NBA. This was his sixth overall first-time All NBA appearance and third straight.
The rules were changed after 2023 to ignore positions when Jokic made second team All-NBA despite finishing second in MVP voting. Otherwise, this would've been his sixth straight season on the first-team All-NBA.
He also made All NBA second-team in 2019-20. Overall, this was his eighth straight season being on All NBA first or second team.
Jokic was joined by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Victor Wembanyama, Cade Cunningham, and Luka Doncic.
Nuggets guard Jamal Murray found himself on an All NBA team for the first time in his career, making the third team. Murray received 149 of a possible 500 points.
Tyrese Maxey, Jalen Johnson, Jalen Duren, and Chet Holmgren also made third-team.
Nikola Jokic's Season
It was another historic offensive season for Jokic as he finished second in the MVP voting for a second straight season.
Jokic averaged a triple double for a second straight season, posting 27.7 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 10.7 assists.
The rebounding and assist numbers were career highs for the Denver big man, and he became the first player in NBA history to lead the league in both assists and rebounds.
He secured 55 double-doubles and 34 triple-doubles, which was tied for his career high.
Jokic missed nearly the entire month of January with a knee injury, but returned to still hit the 65 game threshold required for postseason awards.
Jamal Murray's Season
Murray had his best season to date, posting career highs in points, rebounds, and assists.
He averaged 25.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 7.1 assists while shooting 43% from three. When Jokic went down at the end of December, Murray stepped up to keep the Nuggets near the top of the Western Conference.
During the stretch without Jokic, Murray averaged 27.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 8.3 assists while shooting 49% from the field and 40% from three.
Along with making his first All NBA team, Murray made his first All-Star game this year and finished second in Clutch Player of the Year voting.
He finished the season with 18 double-doubles.
Murray started 75 games, missing fives games at various portions of the year with a leg injuries before sitting in the last two games to rest ahead of the playoffs.
