The Denver Nuggets bounced back with a strong performance in their 130-112 win over the Phoenix Suns

The Denver Nuggets found themselves in an unfamiliar situation entering Saturday's contest against the Phoenix Suns, being just 1-2 in their past three games. While the vibes were high after their win against the Houston Rockets, the team had been a letdown since, with losses to the Sacramento Kings and San Antonio Spurs.

However, the Nuggets put their heads down and dominated on Saturday night, walking away with a 130-112 win that was more dominant than the final score indicated. It was a stellar outing on both ends of the court for the Nuggets, who were highly efficient offensively and strong on the defensive end.

David Adelman's Thoughts After The Win

After the game, Nuggets head coach David Adelman shared his thoughts, as he was happy to see the team turn things around after their poor defensive effort against the Spurs.

"Just the overall effort defensively," Adelman said, regarding what impressed him in the victory. "Flying around, just doing our best to rotate, contest, the zone was effective in the second half. But I really thought it was a consistent effort throughout the night. So awesome team win."

The Nuggets shot 58% from the field and 58% from beyond the arc, connecting on 22 of their 38 three-point attempts. Additionally, they won the rebounding battle and missed just one of their free-throw attempts. The only downside was the turnovers, as Denver committed 17 to Phoenix's seven.

    Standouts Of The Game

Pointing to Nikola Jokic (26 points) and Jamal Murray (24 points) as standouts wouldn't say much, given that those two consistently deliver for Denver. Two players who did have big games unexpectedly were second-year guard Spencer Jones and veteran Tim Hardaway Jr.

Jones had 16 points and nine rebounds in his fourth career start, having a game-high four offensive rebounds. Factor in a 4-of-6 effort from three, Jones proved that he could potentially grow into a rotation piece for this Nuggets team, as he's earning playing time in the absence of Aaron Gordon and Christian Braun.

As for Hardaway Jr., he had 23 points on 7-of-11 shooting from three. He hasn't been very consistent this season, but when Hardaway is making his shots, he'll find a way to rack up 15 or more points with ease.

    The Road Ahead

Now at 14-5 on the season, the Nuggets return home to face the Dallas Mavericks on Monday before starting a four-game road trip. They will follow it up with a four-game home stand, so that should help ease the travel. Luckily, the Nuggets won't have a back-to-back until December 22nd and 23rd.

A manageable schedule awaits the Nuggets, and they'll only get better once Braun and Gordon return to action.
