Jaylen brown would be an intriguing pickup by Denver.

The Denver Nuggets have a lot to think about this offseason and adding a new star into the mix alongside Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray may be exactly what they need.

Nuggets' ownership has indicated that they're comfortable with the roster that they already and that "running it back" with their existing core is a real possibility, but that doesn't mean that mixing some new blood into the roster wouldn't be a bad idea, especially with a number of high-impact free agents and trade targets on the market.

On the trade front, a recent report from Sean Deveney of Heavy has proposed a very interesting trade for the Nuggets that could create a proper Big Three and bring a new star to Denver.

Jaylen Brown to the Nuggets?

Deveney turned his sights toward Jaylen Brown, who looks to be the most eligible of a number of stars in the NBA for a possible trade after the Boston Celtics blew a 3-1 lead to the Philadelphia 76ers to drop out of the NBA playoffs after the first round.

What makes Brown an even more intriguing trade prospect is the fact that he's eligible for an extension with three years and $182 million left on his existing, meaning any potential suitors would be able to lock down the dynamic shooting guard as soon as they brought him on.

Deveney listed a number of teams that could be in on a potential Brown sweepstakes, including teams like Milwaukee Bucks, San Antonio Spurs and Cleveland Cavaliers, but it's the idea of the Nuggets adding Brown that seems the most intriguing.

An Executive's Thoughts

An unnamed Western Conference executive was listed as a source to share their insights on the several teams proposed to trade for Brown, and when it comes to Brown's fit on the Nuggets, the executive was optimistic and had their own ideas on what the Nuggets would give up in exchange.

"He'd be a great match with [Nikola Jokic] and give that group a little more fire, which it needs. Boston would get back Jamal Murray but he could be a fit there, more of a point guard for them," the executive said.

Breaking up the dynamic duo of Jokic and Murray would definitely be a severe move and that could have implication for the team's chemistry as a whole, but getting Brown in return would be a huge plus.

His physicality and playoff experience would revamp the Nuggets' scheme and add some electricity to the team that was sorely lacking in the opening round of the playoffs against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

It's all hypothetical at this point, but it's an interesting idea nonetheless.
