The Nuggets could make a big choice with Jamal Murray.

The Denver Nuggets have a lot to address when it comes to what to do this offseason to try and reload their roster in an ever-competitive Eastern Conference.

Nuggets ownership has expressed a lot of interest in simply continuing on with the same core as this past season and while this existing team showed a lot of promise with a third-seed regular season finish, it's still worth considering what moves they could make to get over the hump and get back to the NBA Finals.

One move they could make to do that, albeit a drastic one, would be to consider trading Jamal Murray

Murray is at the peak of his value, coming off of his first All-Star season and still only 29 years old, giving potential suitors a player who's both an established veteran and has a future still ahead of him.

Obviously, trading Murray would be a severe move considering what he's done for the Nuggets as a franchise and the bond he's formed with star Nikola Jokic, but for the right price, it could be a move that could breathe new life into the team.

The question is, who could the Nuggets hope to acquire in exchange for Murray?

Toronto Raptors

The Toronto Raptors have a rapidly-improving star on their hands in Scottie Barnes and with a supporting cast in RJ Barrett and Brandon Ingram, adding Murray into the mix could take the Raptors to the next level.

Getting one of those three in return for Murray would be a long shot, if it was possible at all, and instead Immanuel Quickley would be the most likely candidate that Denver could get in return, along with players like Jamal Shead and Ja'Kobe Walter to be supplemental pieces that could add some youth to the Denver lineup.

Boston Celtics

The Nuggets have been listed as possible candidates in a trade for Jaylen Brown, which would add another major superstar with a playoff pedigree to the team that could ramp up the competitiveness of the roster, but to get Brown, there's really no player that the Nuggets have to part with other than Murray to trade with.

Such a scenario would likely be a one-to-one swap of the two franchise stars with each team lookin to shake up their rosters by swapping their stars.

Los Angeles Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers recently lucked out in a big way by acquiring the fifth-overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft and still have another first-round pick and two second-round picks due to them because of their midseason trade with the Indiana Pacers.

While the Clippers have put themselves in a great place for a rapid rebuild, adding Murray could be a boost as their roster improves.

To make such a trade happen, the Nuggets could ask for Darius Garland, trading one point guard for another, while also asking for one of the Clippers' eventual second-round picks.

Parting ways with Murray would be a huge shift in the direction of the Nuggets' franchise, but if the Nuggets manage to set up the right trade, they could make that change in direction a positive one.
