Finally, some good news for the Indiana Pacers — a little help is on the way.
Starting point guard Andrew Nembhard was upgraded to questionable ahead of Saturday’s game in Denver and he’s on track to play, I’m told. He suffered a left shoulder strain in their season-opening loss against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
He’s made progress in the last week and has been on the floor getting shots up before games, despite not being in uniform.
Rookie two-way guard Taelon Peter was added to the injury report Saturday afternoon: questionable with right groin soreness.
In a separate move, the Pacers signed veteran guard Monte Morris on Friday. He joined the team in Denver and will wear No. 3.
To make room, Indiana waived guard Mac McClung, who was signed to a non-guaranteed deal just a week ago.
The Pacers (1–7) are entering a tough stretch, playing seven of their next 10 games on the road — including a back-to-back that starts in Denver and ends Sunday night in San Francisco against the Warriors.
