Should the Pacers consider signing someone to replace Tyrese Haliburton while he's injured?
The Indiana Pacers were dealt a big blow a few days ago, with star guard Tyrese Haliburton suffering a brutal hamstring injury.
Haliburton will now be out for the next two weeks while the team gives him ample time to recover from the injury. Hamstring injuries can be tricky, and the Pacers will want to be patient with how they approach the recovery process.
While Haliburton is out, the team will have to find a way to replicate his production. So far in his return this season, Haliburton has averaged 21.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 9.5 assists on 52 percent shooting while playing 33 minutes per game
Haliburton has struggled with hamstring injuries in the past, seeing the injury take hold a few times before. Indiana could look to add some help, taking some of the burden off Haliburton for the rest of the way.
Here are three players that Indiana could look to target to help them navigate the injury to Haliburton, while bolstering the team for when he returns:
1. Bruce Brown
The Pacers are very familiar with Brown, and a return could make some sense. Brown played for Indiana a few seasons ago, and the two sides could look for a reunion with him being a free agent still.
Last season with the Denver Nuggets, Brown averaged 7.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game, while shooting 47.5 percent from the field. Brown could help fill in the playmaking for the Pacers, while giving the team another proven wing.
2. Seth Curry
Last season, Curry averaged 7.1 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game, while shooting 49.0 percent from the field. Curry played for the Golden State Warriors during the 2025-26 NBA season.
The 36-year-old could provide shooting to this team, offering them more overall depth. If anything, Curry could be a fun addition for the Pacers to use while Haliburton is out.
3. Kevin Porter Jr.
Porter was just released by the Milwaukee Bucks, but he could serve this team well. The veteran guard could give them more depth in the backcourt while Haliburton is out, and if he performs well, he could maybe carve out a role going forward.
Last season for the Bucks, Porter averaged 17.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 7.4 assists per game, shooting 46.5 percent from the field. If anything, this could be a low-risk move that could yield high results for the Pacers.
