Indiana Pacers guard Andrew Nembhard has led Team Canada to a win.

Indiana Pacers guard Andrew Nembhard is playing for Canada's Senior Men's National Team this summer for the FIBA Men's Basketball World Cup 2027 Americas Qualifiers.

Nembhard was a key part of Canada's win over Puerto Rico on Friday, as he finished with 23 points, four rebounds, and four assists, shooting 81.8 percent from the field.

It's great to see Nembhard playing at a high level this summer as he will be a pivotal piece for the Pacers, who are looking to return to contention in the 2026-27 season. The 2025-26 season was a gap year for Indiana, with Tyrese Haliburton sidelined after tearing his Achilles tendon in Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals.

Nembhard was one of the few bright spots for the Pacers in the 2025-26 season, as he averaged 16.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 7.7 assists per game, shooting 44.2 percent from the field and 36.1 percent from three.

The Pacers have some quality depth on the roster around Tyrese Haliburton and Pascal Siakam, and added forward Kelly Oubre on a two-year deal in free agency.

Oubre will be an important rotational player and is coming off a solid season, as he averaged 14.1 points, five rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.4 steals per game, shooting 46.7 percent from the floor and 36 percent from behind the arc.

Indiana proved to be one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference when they were at full strength, but their competition will be tougher in the 2026-27 season. The New York Knicks are coming off a championship, while other teams in the East have made blockbuster additions.

The Miami Heat acquired Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Toronto Raptors reunited with Kawhi Leonard, and the Philadelphia 76ers traded for Jaylen Brown, making their rosters potential contenders.

While the Pacers haven't made a blockbuster trade this offseason, they have a talented roster and will lean on players like Nembhard to help them get back to the NBA Finals.
