The Indiana Pacers have made a Kelly Oubre Jr. announcement amid NBA free agency.

The Indiana Pacers reportedly agreed to terms with free agent wing Kelly Oubre Jr. early on during NBA free agency. Since then, fans have been waiting for the official announcement that he has signed his contract.

On Wednesday, fans got their wish.

In a post on X, the Pacers announced their deal with Oubre. He will officially join the team and will be asked to handle an important role for the team. Oubre is widely expected to take over as the primary scorer off of the bench.

"Welcome to Indy, Kelly," the announcement read. "We have signed forward Kelly Oubre Jr."

Indiana quickly quickly followed up its announcement of the signing with a highlight video of Oubre.

"Kelly Oubre Jr. coming to @GainbridgeFH real soon," the post read.

Oubre reportedly agreed to a two-year contract with the Pacers that will pay him somewhere around $17 million. For a team that was one win way from a championship just two years ago, he will have a chance to compete for a ring in Indiana.

Last season with the Philadelphia 76ers, the 30-year-old wing played in 50 games and made 41 starts. He averaged 14.1 points per game to go along with five rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.4 steals. Oubre also shot 46.7 percent from the floor and knocked down 36 percent of his three-point attempts.

Kevin Pritchard and the Pacers' front office came into the NBA offseason without much financial wiggle room. Being able to land a player like Oubre was a big win.

Now, Indiana just needs Oubre to play up to the level he showed last season with the 76ers. If he can simply replicate that success, the Pacers' bench will be much improved.

Following the Ivica Zubac trade that sent Bennedict Mathurin out of town last year, it was clear that Indiana needed more scoring. There weren't many better fits to fill that second unit need than Oubre this offseason.

All of that being said, fans can now get excited to see Oubre in action this season. The Pacers have announced that he will be wearing the No. 10 jersey number.
