The Indiana Pacers have revealed a major health update about star point guard Tyrese Haliburton.
The Indiana Pacers were forced to play without star point guard Tyrese Haliburton for the entirety of the 2025-26 NBA season. After tearing his Achilles in Game 7 of the NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Haliburton was badly missed.
When all was said and done, the Pacers mustered up a 19-63 season.
Despite the down year, expectations are high in Indiana for next season. Kevin Pritchard and company still have an extremely competitive roster. The Pacers will also have a chance to add more talent to the roster throughout the NBA offseason.
With that being said, the biggest factor for team success next year will be the health of Haliburton.
Amid his recovery from the torn ACL, Haliburton also had to fight shingles. He put on some weight and simply didn't feel good in general. There was concern about his status in recent weeks.
That being said, a new update has been shared from Pritchard.
Pritchard spoke out at a charity golf event and was asked about Haliburton's health. His update was all good news for Indiana.
“He’s doing great. He’s come off about 10 pounds. He’s doing some five-on-five," Pritchard said.
"You know, he’s going to have a monthly ramp-up that takes some time, but we think he’s going to be ready for training camp. The Finals just ended, and you’re looking at four months, and the season starts. We’re confident he’ll be ready.”
Needless to say, that is the kind of update that Pacers fans want to hear. Haliburton seems to be getting back into shape and ready for game action.
Back in the 2024-25 season, Haliburton put together averages of 18.6 points, 9.2 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game across 73 appearances. He also shot 47.3 percent from the floor and 38.8 percent from three-point range.
Having those numbers back on the court alone will make Indiana a much more dangerous team. His ability to make teammates better around him is also much-needed.
Hopefully, the recovery process continues going smoothly for Haliburton. The Pacers' fan base is going to go crazy in the season opener next season when he takes the court.
