Taking a look at how Tyrese Haliburton's year will go for the Indiana Pacers this season.
The Indiana Pacers will be getting back star guard Tyrese Haliburton this season, following his missing the entire last year due to a torn Achilles.
Haliburton has spent the last year-plus rehabbing from the injury, patiently waiting for his time to return to the court. The last time that the star guard took the court for the Pacers was in Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals, keeping him out for a long time.
With Haliburton coming back, the Pacers will be looking to reclaim their spot atop the Eastern Conference as an elite team. Indiana was able to win just 19 games a year ago without their star guard, but this season will be all about redemption for this group.
The Pacers came within one win of claiming the first NBA title in franchise history, with Haliburton leading the charge. And due to this success that the organization saw, Indiana is now heading into a championship-or-bust situation this season.
The East will be tougher this season, with multiple teams beefing up rosters over the summer. But the Pacers have faith in their core group, being led by Haliburton once again.
So, entering the year, how will Haliburton's season go? Considering that he hasn't played in some time, it could take him a little bit to get going, but once he does, the sky is the limit for the Pacers.
Predicting Tyrese Haliburton's Stat-line For 2026-27 NBA Season
18.8 points, 7.8 rebounds, 9.2 assists, 0.6 blocks, 1.4 steals, 46 percent shooting from the field, and 38 percent shooting from beyond the three-point line.
If Haliburton can get to these numbers, it would be very impressive, and the Pacers would likely be a top team in the East. However, Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle has already said that the team won't be viewing the star as a "savior" this season.
Indiana will slowly work the star back into the mix, giving him ample time to get his feet out from under him. The Pacers have a solid core next to Haliburton, and this could allow him to navigate any rust that he may have this season.
Haliburton says that he is healthy and ready to go after the long absence, and he's looked good in videos. But simulating the speed of an actual game can't be done, and the real test for the guard will be when he takes the floor for the first time this season.
Indiana will be kicking off the new season on October 21 against the New Orleans Pelicans on the road.
