The New Orleans Pelicans got back into the win column on Friday with a win over the Memphis Grizzlies, now they face a quick turnaround with an away game against the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturay night.
The 76ers have been a bit inconsistent this season and are 5-5 in their last 10 games. They are powered by Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey both playing at All-NBA levels. This should be a fun matchup in the city of brotherly love.
Interestingly enough, recent history tilts this game into the Pelicans' favor. New Orleans has won the last four meetings and five of the last six. Philadelphia hasn't won this matchup since January of 2023.
Here is a quick rundown of important information to know before the game tips off on Saturday:

The Pelicans had an injury scare on Friday night when Saddiq Bey grabbed at his leg and subbed out, but he returned to the lineup. When the report gets released, it should be the same as the last few outings, just Dejounte Murray out with his Achilles issue.
Not on the injury report, but also not expected to play in this game are Jordan Hawkins and Jordan Poole. James Borrego said after practice on Thursday that they remain ready and could be called on at any moment, but the belief is that they are sitting out as the front office tries to trade them ahead of next week's deadline.
Philadelphia is expecting some good news to get even better. Kelly Oubre Jr. is listed as available and playing with a knee guard. Quentin Grimes is listed as probable after missing two games with an ankle sprain. Charles Bassey, MarJon Beauchamp and Johni Broome are doubtful for G League assignments.
Hope Herb Jones can contain Tyrese Maxey.
Maxey has been on an absolute tear this season. He's averaging 29.4 points on 47.3/38.7/88.5 shooting splits. He has scored over 20 points in all but six games. In those six games, though, the 76ers are just 1-5. Jones knows how to step up and shut down star players. With him healthy, perhaps he can contain the guard.
