The New Orleans Pelicans finally got back into the win column on Monday against the Chicago Bulls and will try to do it again on Wednesday night against the Memphis Grizzlies.

This is the final NBA cup game of the season for the Pelicans, who are already out of contention. They have yet to win one this year.

It is still a must-win game for New Orleans, though, as it could massively improve their odds of turning this season around and getting back into the play-in conversation. Beating the Grizzlies on Wednesday would bring the Pelicans back just two games out of the 10-seed.

Here is a quick rundown of important information to know before the game tips off on Wednesday night:

New Orleans Pelicans vs. Memphis Grizzlies Injury Updates

New Orleans will be without Herb Jones, Jordan Poole, Dejounte Murray and Karlo Matkovic in this game. Poole was recently cleared to resume basketball activities on Monday, but was still not taking contact as of Tuesday. His return will be much anticipated.

Memphis is without Ja Morant, Brandon Clarke, Javon Small and Ty Jerome for certain on Wednesday night. Morant torched the Pelicans last time, so the Grizzlies will have to supplement his production. Zach Edey is listed as questionable due to a head injury suffered in their last game, but seems to be trending towards playing.

Key to Victory For New Orleans Pelicans vs. Memphis Grizzlies

Make Memphis adjust to the faster pace.

New Orleans has found something that works for them with Zion Williamson in the James Borrego offense and that is playing with pace. They have gone from being one of the slowest teams in the NBA under Willie Green to Borrego turning them into the fastest.

The Grizzlies are one of the slower teams in the league. Every game really becomes somewhat of a balance between what the two teams do, but the Pelicans should make it their focus to speed things up and play with that pace.

Good news for New Orleans, though, is that Derik Queen thrives in that slower environment, so they should have something to go to no matter what the game seems to be heading towards.
