Game Preview: New Orleans Pelicans vs. Philadelphia 76ers - 2/21/26 cover image

The New Orleans Pelicans will hope to bounce back from Friday's loss in their Saturday matchup with the Philadelphia 76ers.

The New Orleans Pelicans are back to business on Saturday night against the Philadelphia 76ers, the night after a home loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Pelicans had been feeling good heading into Friday's game. It will be interesting to see how the team responds to their porous defensive performance against the Bucks.

The 76ers are on a three-game losing streak, but won six of their seven games before that. It's still a dangerous team, especially with Tyrese Maxey taking a massive step up this season.

New Orleans Pelicans vs. Philadelphia 76ers Injury Updates

The Pelicans have ruled Trey Murphy, Micah Peavy, Yves Missi, Trey Alexander and Hunter Dickinson out for this game.

If there seems to be a name missing from that group, there is. For the first time this year, Dejounte Murray was upgraded from out to doubtful before this game. It doesn't guarantee his return in time for this game, but it does mean that it's close.

All eyes are on when Murray will finally return to the lineup, as it should happen soon, but there is no exact update yet.

Murphy is being ruled out further in advance now, which was expected after missing the last game and not practicing after the All-Star Break. The shoulder injury isn't major, though, so he could be ready for their next game.

Philadelphia will be without Joel Embiid, Paul George, Johni Broome and MarJon Beauchamp for this matchup.

Given that Embiid dropped 40 points the last time these teams met, New Orleans won't really be complaining about him being out for this game. That's the only real change from the last time they met.
