The New Orleans Pelicans are back at home on Monday after a short, disappointing one-game road trip to Brooklyn. The Victor Wembanyama-less San Antonio Spurs are in town and cannot be looked past just because they don't have their star.

The Spurs have gone 7-3 without Wembanyama and are 15-7 on the year. Their wins haven't been blowouts, but they do have an impressive win over the Denver Nuggets. It has been all offense in San Antonio as their defense has been nonexistent without their star, but it's working.

As for the Pelicans, they have lost six straight games and are now just 3-21. James Borrego has the team playing better basketball overall, but it hasn't really mattered yet, as they can't win games. Perhaps this will be a different story.

Here is a quick rundown of important information to know before the game tips off on Monday:

New Orleans Pelicans vs. San Antonio Spurs Injury Updates

Herb Jones was upgraded to questionable on Sunday after missing the last eight games. He may still miss this game. They have usually made these decisions right before the game this season. Jordan Poole, Zion Williamson and Dejounte Murray have all been ruled out.

While the Spurs will be without Wembanyama, they are set to get Stephon Castle back. Castle will help an already thriving offense go up another level. He is averaging 17.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 7.5 assists when healthy. He had 16 points and 13 assists in his last game against New Orleans. Luke Kornet is also expected to return. Jordan McLaughlin is out.

Key to Victory For New Orleans Pelicans vs. San Antonio Spurs

Let Derik Queen cook.

With no Wembanyama, the paint should be much clearer for Queen to go to work in. The rookie has already had solid outings against San Antonio this year with the Spurs star on the court. It's always a bit of a shot in the dark guessing what Queen will do over the past couple of weeks, but this seems like a great opportunity for him to work at his own pace and control the offense.
