There is just over a month until the 2025 New Orleans Pelicans season kicks off, now down to just 32 days.

To celebrate, it's time to go through the history of the No. 32 with the Pelicans, even though it might not be the deepest history that there is. Here is a quick rundown of what the number has to offer:

Former Players Who Wore No. 32

    Courtney Alexander - 2002/2003

Alexander is certainly a player of note, in that he was a member of the inaugural New Orleans Hornets roster. That would be his final NBA season, though. He averaged 7.9 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists.

    Casey Jacobsen - 2004/2005

    Julian Wright - 2007-2010

Wright is the longest-tenured former No. 32 for the team. He spent three years with the Hornets as a bench piece after being drafted with the No. 13 pick in the 2007 NBA draft. He averaged 4.0 points, 2.3 rebounds and 12.8 minutes per night over those three seasons.

He ended up having a long career overseas, retiring back in 2022.

    Jerryd Bayless - 2010

    Jimmer Fredette - 2014/2015

Fredette is mostly fun to remember because everyone thought he would be the next big thing after his college career. He never really clicked in the NBA, but did stick around for a couple of years. The former BYU Cougar averaged 3.3 points and 1.1 assists while shooting 37.6% from the field on 10.2 minutes a night over 54 games with New Orleans.

    Hollis Thompson - 2017

    Wenyen Gabriel - 2020/2021

    E.J. Liddell - 2023/2024

Liddell is the most recent No. 32 wearer. He was the No. 41 overall selection in the 2022 NBA draft. He would go on to appear in just eight games for the Pelicans. He now plays for the Brooklyn Nets on a two-way contract.

    Notable 32-Point Performances

Anthony Davis against the Los Angeles Lakers - November 8, 2013

Davis had 32 points, 12 rebounds and six blocks in a 96-85 win over the Lakers at just 20 years old. That made him the youngest player in NBA history to have at least 30 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks.

Trey Murphy III against the Chicago Bulls - January 14, 2025

Murphy powered New Orleans to a 119-113 win over the Bulls last season with 32 points, six rebounds, four assists, three steals and a block. It wasn't as historic of a performance as Davis' but does show Murphy's ability to be the leader of the team even when both Zion Williamson and Dejounte Murray played as well.
