These four players are the biggest winners from the New Orleans Pelicans' preseason games so far.

The New Orleans Pelicans have now played two preseason games this year. The first two looks at what this team will be under head coach Jamahl Mosley.

It obviously is far from a finished product, and it's never smart to read too far into what happens at the beginning of the preseason, especially with a coaching change.

However, there are a few positives to take note of and hope they carry over into the regular season. Here are the biggest winners of the preseason so far:

G Jordan Poole

Poole has felt like one of the more contentious players to talk about for pretty much his entire career. A (very) down year last year had people ready to completely write him off. There was a wonder if he would even be in this team's rotation.

With a new coach coming in, though, it has given Poole a bit of a clean slate. He has responded with great effort on both sides of the ball and has won Mosley over. The 27-year-old has been efficient and looks to be playing with a ton of confidence again.

F Zion Williamson

Again, it is just a two-game sample size, but it's great to see Williamson actually expanding his offensive bag in games. He's taken three shots from beyond the arc already, after taking four all last season. Even if his efficiency drops, making defenders take him seriously from even just mid-range will make both his own an everyone else's games better.

G Jeremiah Fears

Fears has been putting in a ton of work all Summer, with the hopes of making a big sophomore leap. Some of the signs are there. His jump shot looks cleaner and more confident. It was the end of a shot clock, but he was able to hoist a 32-footer and make it. He looks to be a bit more aggressive on both sides of the ball. Overall, he just looks like a talented guard who has a year in the NBA under his belt. If he can continue to improve as a playmaker, he won't be coming off the bench for too long.

G Jaron Pierre Jr.

Pierre has a great story, and the entire city will be rooting for him in his NBA career. That'll be even easier to do if he keeps playing the way that he has been. The two-way guard is seemingly doing everything the coaching staff is asking of him. The effort level has been high on both sides of the court. For as much was made about his athleticism and ability to get to the rim, it feels like his shooting has gone underrated. He is 5-of-8 from three to start the preseason. Six of those shots (and four of the makes) came from the second game. Even when the percentage eventually drops, that volume is perfect for him.
