The New Orleans Pelicans have worked through a number of injuries yet again this season, but are slowly getting healthier as the games go by. The latest injury report, ahead of Thursday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers, saw some great news for the Pelicans.
Here's how things look for New Orleans heading into the matchup:
Trey Alexander (G League two-way) - Out
Hunter Dickinson (G League two-way) - Out
Dejounte Murray (right Achilles rupture) - Out
Zion Williamson (right Adductor strain) - Out
Jordan Poole (left quad strain) - Questionable
Poole, after being out for over a month, has finally been upgraded to questionable. He played just seven games this year before being diagnosed with a left quad strain and missing every game since.
It's not confirmed that he will play against the Trail Blazers, but things are moving in the right direction for him. The fact that Trey Alexander is being ruled out already signals that the team may be expecting the guard to play.
The 26-year-old is averaging 17.3 points, 1.7 rebounds and 3.4 assists on 35.4/33.9/.96.9 shooting splits. It's not the start that the team would have imagined when trading for him, but it's a small sample size and the team looks completely different since the last time he played.
Poole's shooting volume and off-ball ability will work well next to Derik Queen, which is something that the Pelicans must consider moving forward.
Portland has yet to release an updated injury report ahead of the their next game. Robert Williams, Donovan Clingan, Jrue Holiday and Matisse Thrybulle are all expected to be questionable. Scoot Henderson is out.
