The New Orleans Pelicans are reportedly interested in trading for Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown.

The New Orleans Pelicans are tired of being at the bottom of the NBA and could be prepared to take a major swing at trying to turn their luck around.

Jake Fischer, during an episode of Bleacher Report's NBA Insider Notebook, shared that the Pelicans are among the teams that are interested in trading for Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown. Fischer was among the first to connect Jamahl Mosley to the New Orleans job, so he could be someone to pay attention to.

Along with the Pelicans, Fischer also listed the Houston Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers and the Atlanta Hawks as potential landing spots and trade partners. New Orleans will need to continue to monitor the rest of the trade market around Brown, as a bidding war could change things.

On the surface, it appears as though the Pelicans would probably have to trade Trey Murphy to the Celtics to make this trade work. While Murphy could be a star in this league, Brown already is one.

The 29-year-old is coming off a career-best season where he posted 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists on 47.7/34.7/79.5 shooting splits. He proved that he can be the No. 1 option on a winning team, as he helped keep Boston afloat through Jayson Tatum's recovery. The Celtics finished 56-26, second in the East, despite Tatum playing in only 16 games.

Adding Brown would certainly show that this team is ready to compete. He's making $57 million next year and is set to make $126 million over the two seasons after. They would need to include the deals of Jordan Poole or Dejounte Murray to make it work.
